Research biography

Underpinned by an innate interest for human flourishing, my current research portfolio spans three predominant areas with a positive psychology lens: (1) leadership – namely leadership development, authentic leadership, emotional & social competence, and psychological safety, (2) organisational learning & development, which aims to build capability through the alignment of strategy, structure and the heartbeat of organisations, it’s people, and (3) career development – namely the factors & mechanisms that contribute to transformational change and/or career advancement.

Research projects

  • Career Development Project (inc. career decision-making and career development) with Edith Cowan University (Dr Hossein Ali Abadi & Ass. Prof. Janice Redmond) and Deakin University (Prof. Alex Newman). 
  • Exploring the interactive role of work engagement and work passion on psychological distress. Strategic Research Grant with Edith Cowan University (Dr Jennifer Lajom), Northumbria University (Prof. Stephen Teo) and Kyoto University (Prof. Moises Kirk). 
  • The implications of remote work on job performance in a global sales environment: Adopting a Job-Demands Resources perspective. Current DBA Project led by Bianca Lemon.
  • Understanding the uptake of crisis workload management systems on mental health clinicians: A Job-Demands Resources perspective. Current DBA project led by Natasha Stresnjak.
  • Cultivating a psychologically safe post-pandemic workplace. Current DBA project led by Angela Astbury.
