Research activity per year
My academic scholarship and research focus is in the disciplines of finance, information systems, and tertiary education. My finance-related research outputs/interests investigate the Australian electricity market spot and derivative pricing, asset pricing from a United States equity perspective, how firm (founder/entrepreneurial/small-medium sized enterprises, SMEs) performance could be improved with better financial literacy and corporate governance in Australia. My information systems research investigates how technology can be used to make organisations more secure, safe to improve their performance. A related stream of investigation in tertiary education research evaluates how to improve performance of adult working business (finance) students cognitive learning, and use of analytics to improve Australian university ICT curricula and student employability outcomes.
My teaching interests to MBA students align with my scholarship and research focus. At AIB, I have coordinated/facilitated distance and online core AQF level 8 and 9 subjects: Financial Management, Corporate Governance, Project; and elective AQF level 9 subjects: Corporate Finance, Financial Markets and Institutions, International Business Finance, Investment Management and Cyber Security. I have also facilitated Quantitative Research Methods for HDR candidates– Masters and Doctoral (with Kavita Goel and Danilo Wegner).
