Abstract
The foundational assumptions that have guided global drug development for the past thirty years are no longer valid. The established world order in biotechnology, a unipolar model where innovation and capital flowed predominantly from the West to the rest of the world, has been fractured. It is replaced by a multi-polar, politically charged landscape where national interest and scientific advancement are inextricably linked. For corporate leaders, navigating this new terrain is not an ancillary concern; it is the central strategic challenge of our time. To that end, this article provides a playbook for business leaders to navigate this new landscape, de-risk clinical development, and strategically position their organisations for growth in an era of profound global disruption.
