Abstract

A few years ago, the debate about artificial intelligence (AI) centred on whether humans would become obsolete because of the rise of robotics and AI. Today, the conversation has evolved. Generative AI (Gen AI) and emerging agentic systems are not just mimicking human intelligence but, in some cases, surpassing it in speed, scale and autonomy (Yee, Chui & Roberts 2024). This shift raises real concerns about the future of work, with certain roles at risk of becoming archaic.
