Personal profile

Research biography

I am a highly qualified and competent academic with a strong background and robust experience within the area of Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Tourism. After completing my MBA at the University of East London, UK, I worked in the industry for a couple of years. In 2012, I completed my Doctorate in Marketing from the University of South Australia, Australia. In my thesis, I investigated how social media can play a role in retaining existing customers and attracting new customers for organisations in the Business to Customer (B2C) domain.

I have a noteworthy record of scholarly contributions across multiple disciplines. To date, I have authored 45 peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers and book chapters. My research articles have been published in high-ranked journals (i.e., ABDC A-ranked and SCImago Q1-ranked) such as the Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Bank Marketing, Journal of Strategic Marketing, Journal of Knowledge Management, Tourism Recreation Research Journal, Journal of Islamic Marketing and International Journal of Web Based Communities.

I am one of the associate editors of Vision: The Journal of Business Perspective, an ABDC-indexed journal. In addition to this role, I currently sit on the editorial board of a couple of journals. I acted as a guest editor for two issues of an ABDC B-ranked journal. In addition to my involvement with high-quality journals, I have served on the organising committee for more than twenty international conferences where I actively contributed to the success of the conferences.

I have obtained a total of around AUD 20000 in internal and research grants and successfully produced the outcomes required. I am a member of the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) and Action Learning Action Research Association Ltd (ALARA). I am also a Certified Practising Marketer (CPM).

Being an avid learner, my learning journey continues. I am an enthusiastic collaborator and love working across institutional and disciplinary borders. On this note, feel free to get in touch with me for any possible research collaboration.
