Research biography
I am a lecturer, a self-motivated researcher and a data analyst with a multi-disciplinary background in Marketing and Tourism management fields.
I have been awarded the Doctor of Philosophy in Marketing degree from the school of Marketing/Management, University of South Australia (UniSA). I received several scholarships (valued 188k AUD in total) during my course of study at UniSA. My research area was about developing marketing strategies to promote niche tourism destinations; and how to manage and market niche tourism destinations. Applying a multi-disciplinary approach, I proposed integrating visual astronomy with tourism through the combination of marketing and astronomy fields.
Before joining the Australian Institute of Business, I worked as a sessional academic and researcher in leading Australian universities, including the University of South Australia, Flinders University and the University of Technology, Sydney.
As a researcher, I have expertise in applying different research methods and incorporating innovative research methodologies (e.g. mixed-methods, quantitative and qualitative) using a variety of data analysis software such as SPSS AMOS, SmartPLS, Nvivo, MaxQDA.
I serve in the Australian Institute of Business Research and Higher Degrees Committee. Moreover, I regularly review for top-tier journals from business, marketing and tourism disciplines. Recently, I have been selected to be an Aspiring Career Editor for Tourism Management Perspectives journal (SSCI, ABDC: A).
