Research biography
Sajjad is a Senior Lecturer and Discipline Leader in Operations Management at the Australian Institute of Business. He is an experienced business analyst and operations manager with a comprehensive education profile. Prior to AIB, he served as an Associate Professor of Industrial Management and Information Systems and the Associate Dean of the faculty at the National University of Iran. He additionally served as a Visiting Professor at Utrecht University in the Netherlands and worked in the areas of logistics management through social media big data analytics.
He earned his Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from the Amir Kabir University. Before starting the Ph.D., he worked as a business analyst and consultant in various reputable industries and led many industry projects for operations improvement, such as mining, oil & gas, and automotive industries.
With over twenty-five A-ranked papers and more than sixty Q1 papers published in esteemed journals, he has demonstrated sustained excellence in research scholarship. His research interests encompass crafting intelligent systems for behavioural analysis, unveiling consumer insights in the digital marketplace, and shaping intelligent decision-making through big data analytics. His research papers have been published in highly reputable journals such as Industrial Management & Data Systems, Business Strategy and the Environment, Annals of Operations Research, and the Journal of Cleaner Production.
His approach to teaching is interactive, experiential, and practical, benefiting everyone involved in the learning process. This teaching style makes the learning process more enjoyable for the students and ultimately assists them in applying the course content to their future careers. He has extensive experience in teaching courses in various areas of Business Analytics and Information Systems at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Additionally, he has instructed several successful workshops for industry professionals.
