I am currently accepting motivated research candidates interested in the following topics; (1) exploring strategic marketing capabilities for firm innovation, (2) exploring the mechanism of big data-driven firm innovation, (3) exploring the role of digital entrepreneurship (past, present and future), (4) exploring the marketing analytics as a key market learning tool and its integration with firm-level internal, external learning mechanisms for innovation and competitive advantage. Research biography

Dr Lakma Algewatthage is an aspiring academic currently works as a Lecturer (Marketing and Entrepreneurship) at Australian Institute of Business (AIB). Lakma's teaching and research experience in the higher education sector span across 8+ years. She served as a Senior Lecturer at University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. Prior to joining AIB, her research assistant (RA) roles were affiliated with the Alliance for Social Impact, UQ Business School and University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. Lakma's recent RA work was funded by the Queensland Department of Youth Justice, Employment, Small Business and Training under the project of 'Building resilient social enterprises in Queensland'.

Lakma's research interests focus on the areas of big data, marketing analytics and firm innovation, entrepreneurial orientation (private, public, social sectors), and firm dynamic capabilities. She graduated with a PhD aimed at developing and validating firm-level 'proactive marketing analytics capability', Measure of ‘Digital Entrepreneurship’ in innovation based competitive advantage (big data context). She passed her thesis examination with 'No revisions' which marks a notable educational achievement. Lakma is a competitive grant recipient for PhD in the World Bank affiliated Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development Project. Lakma obtained a Bachelor (BSc) of Entrepreneurship (Honours) with a 'First Class' from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and nominated as 'Batch Top' in 2013 faculty examinations. She completed MSc degree in the same university with a 'Merit Award'. Lakma has professional certifications from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.

Lakms has a growing scholarly publications record where her PhD working papers targeted high-ranked journals in the field of business and management. She has a strong profile of peer reviewed journal articles and conference papers representing Academy of Marketing, Australian and New Zealand Marketing Academy, Australasian Consortium for Entrepreneurship Research Excellance. Lakma served as an editorial member in the above prestigeous conference committees including Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management. 

Lakma is aiming to develop her teaching and research calibre by strengthening her network across academia and industry. For this she is actively engage in teaching and research groups such as 'Higher Education Academy', 'Academy of Marketing Science', and 'Southeast Queensland Marketing Research Group'.

Lakma is open to research collaborations, mentorships, consultancy and industry projects in strategic marketing, entrepreneurship and innovation development. She is accepting research candidates to explore new areas of knowledge gaps in these discipline areas.
