Supervisor expertise

I have capacity to supervise at the Masters of Management (Research) and PhD/DBA levels, across any of the topics identified in my research interests. That is, in the areas of Corporate Governance (eg. Executive compensation, Board diversity and Corporate social responsibility), Corporate Finance (eg, Debt policy, capital structure and Financial performance). I also have capacity to supervise in the financial literacy space.  <br/>My present doctoral supervisions are in the areas of 'Canada's federal government carbon pollution pricing system and its impact on the financial performance of the oil and gas companies', (with Dr Mingwei Sun and Dr Uwe Kauffman) and 'Will Directors with business expertise on Australian Not-for-profit Aged Care and Disability Boards impact their performance?' (with Dr Christiana Osei Bonsu and Dr Donald Winchester).<br/>Completed PhD was in the area of ‘Impact of cloud computing adoption on firm performance through competitive advantage’ (with Dr Uwe Kauffman).

Research biography

I am a Senior Lecturer and the Discipline Leader (Finance and Corporate Governance) at the Australian Institute of Business. I hold a BCom (Honours) from Delhi University, MCom and PhD in Finance from Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University.

I am an active researcher and research higher degree supervisor and have presented my findings at national and international conferences. As a member of a vibrant team, I have received multiple internal research grants. 

I have a passion for teaching and coordinate a broad range of subjects in Finance at the postgraduate level, including Financial Management, Corporate Finance, Investment Management and Corporate Governance. I am also a member of the Financial Services Institute of Australia (FINSIA) and the Action Learning Action Research Association (ALARA).

Research interests

I aim to work on research projects that align with the UN’s Sustainability Development Goals of Quality Education and Gender Equality. My other research interests are in the financial education space, particularly the cognitive load management in teaching finance subjects. My current works focus on CEO dominance through compensation, Entrepreneur’s financial literacy and their firm performance, Impact of Australia-China Trade tension during COVID on Australian Coal share market.
